Andrew M. Stewart, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Fort York Foundation, is pleased to announce the appointment of Curtis Barlow as Executive Director.

Mr. Barlow has held many senior positions in the arts and government, including Executive Director of the Professional Association of Canadian Theatres, Canadian Cultural Counsellor to both the U.K. and the U.S.A., Deputy Secretary (Policy, Program, Protocol) to the Governor General of Canada, and CEO of the Institute for Canadian Citizenship.

The Fort York Foundation was created with the mandate to support capital renewal at Fort York with the specific goal to raise $6 million from the private sector for a new Visitor Centre scheduled to open in 2012, coincident with the 200th commemoration of the War of 1812.

Mr. Barlow’s appointment is effective immediately.
